A man by the name of Smit has his own theory. “Smit believes the killer entered the home through the basement window while the Ramsey’s were out for the evening. He says the kidnapper cased the home, wrote the note, and waited. While the family slept, the intruder entered JonBen�t’s room and disabled her with a stun gun. At some point, the suspect molested JonBen�t or attempted to get her out of the home, and the young girl screamed. The kidnapper panicked, hit her with a baseball bat, tied the garrote, and quietly strangled her before slipping out into the darkness” (Gudgell 1-). This theory does not fit the case. Where is the baseball bat if JonBen�t was hit by it? How is there no evidence of a bat? There would be more evidence if it was an intruder but there is not.


Since the death of JonBen�t, they have not charged anyone with her murder (Following the Paper Trail ). The Ramsey’s have moved to Atlanta, Georgia since JonBen�t’s death. The Ramsey’s are still looking for the person who killed their daughter.
