Is Capital Punishment Necessary?
Is capital punishment just? Should the world’s leading democracy be in the business of executing criminals? One would think that the answers would go hand in hand; however, the debate on whether or not the US should be involved in such practices is extremely more complicated than the debate on the justness of capital punishment. The debate on this issue is extremely controversial, if the US decides that capital punishment is unconstitutional then criminals convicted of the very most heinous crimes would not be able to be rightly punished. Those against the use of capital punishment would argue that capital punishment is inhumane, unethical, and unfair; however, their counterparts would argue criminals deserving of capital punishment had no regard for the lives of those affected by their crimes, deserve the death penalty for taking the lives of their innocent victims.
Those who are anti-death penalty argue that taking the life of a murderer does not merit a decent punishment for the crime that he or she has committed. Who is to say that a man has the right to decide if the death penalty is an ethical punishment to be given to an individual for the murder of another? The anti-death penalty view is that no man has the right to decide that an acceptable punishment for the killing of an innocent individual should be the death penalty. The anti-death penalty movement also argues that putting a criminal to death is not only unethical it is also impractical and should also be considered murder.
The opposition to the anti-death penalty movement believes that certain crimes are heinous enough to merit the death penalty. The pro-death penalty movement also believes that if a person is cold-blooded enough to kill innocent person that he or she has the capacity to kill again and indeed deserve the maximum punishment for their crimes. AN article in the June 5, 001 edition of the U.S. News & World Report stated that 80 percent of Americans thought that Timothy McVeigh deserved to die. The article went on to report that McVeigh’s case refuted most common arguments against the death penalty because the crime was so heinous that the severity of the punishment wasn’t an issue, he had excellent representation in court, their was no racism involved in his conviction, and he even admitted his own guilt.
The argument that capital punishment is against some people’s religion is an argument frequently used in their side of the debate against the use of capital punishment. The religious argument is the belief that only God has the right to judge human actions and dish out the punishments for those actions.

How to Make a Citizen’s Arrest
When can you make a citizen’s arrest? In a citizen’s arrest many steps must be completed properly before restraining a person for their crime. By notifying the authorities, to see if there are other witnesses besides yourself, and you must be really careful during the process of making an arrest. If you witness a crime, it is your civic duty to report the crime to the police. When a crime is committed, you have the right and responsibility to make a “Citizen’s Arrest”. If you have witnessed a crime, and if you are brave enough to make an arrest (1) ask yourself certain questions, () take him down, () check for witnesses, (4) don’t use too much force, (5) and your not the same as a police officer.
The certain questions you may ask yourself before making an arrest Can I safely intervene without endangering others? Am I strong enough to detain the suspect? Am I sober? If the answer to any of these is “[hiccup] No,” call Popeye and hide behind elderly bystanders. But as a U.S. Citizen, you have the right to arrest it is granted by common law. But keep in mind that you need to witness or have some knowledge of an arrest able crime.
How can you take him down you ask? If you can’t wrestle up a posse to intimidate the perpeter into submission, you may have to get physical. Distract his attention, and then throw him to the ground on his belly and his arm behind him while applying your knee to the small part of his back. Your going to expect some grumpiness-felons consider a citizen’s arrests a professional embarrassment. “ Don’t you think you’re going to play Bruce Lee,” Deannette warns. “ Even police don’t have the right to use excessive or unwarranted force.” In fact, a little too violent arrest could render you criminally liable. Once the punk is immobilized, tell him that you’re arresting him and why; botching either technicality result in the suspect’s release on improper arrest methods and even lead to a civil suit against you for wrongful imprisonment. Finally turn the guy over to the authorities. And keep your eyes peeled for others that may be in danger.
The fixation to say when making an arrest, you should inform the person that you are doing so for particular crime in question, that you are taking them to the nearest Police officer. If there are any other witnesses present, try to get their help and ask for their names and addresses. This is really helpful so that they can back you up when you’re the one that gets accuse.
Do not use too much force when making a citizen’s arrest. If force is required to make the arrest, you should use only reasonable force to overcome any resistance being given; otherwise your actions could amount to an assault. You should be aware that the suspect has the right to resist your efforts to make the arrest you do not have the same powers as a police officer. Do you have any powers to search or question the person? No, you have no legal rights to search or seize anything from the person, nor to question him or her. Just some notes of caution even though you have the right to make a citizen’s arrest, you are not required to do so by law. If you feel it is necessary to make an arrest, you should proceed with caution, as the person in question may be well dangerous. You should also ensure that you have the proper grounds to make the arrest; if you do not you may open yourself to being sued for wrongful arrest.
When is it right to make the arrest? Well private citizen’s have the power to make the arrest in the following circumstances if the crime is being committed at night, if the crime being committed is punishable by three years’ imprisonment or more and if a person is attempting to escape from someone trying to make an arrest. As a general rule the offences for which one is likely to make a citizen’s arrest will be of a more serious nature, including murder, serious assault, drug offences, sex offences, breaking and entering, fraud and theft.
I strongly disapprove a person trying to do a citizen’s arrest because it is so dangerous and you may do it wrong where you may get sued.

Accounting- Internal control

The purpose of the system of internal accounting controls is to make sure a business is operating according to the policies and plans of management in regards with measures that have a direct relation to the protection of assets and to the reliability of accounting information. A system of internal control in a business is set up to safeguard the business’ resources against waste or fraud, to guarantee the accuracy of accounting information, to assess performance of the company and to make sure that company policies are being followed.
To attain well functioning internal control, there are certain guidelines that can be used. The first would be to establish clear lines of responsibility. Businesses should assign responsibilities to an individual or a department. Clear descriptions of each department should be recorded to avoid any possible problems later. Each type of transaction should have routine procedures to be followed in order to direct activities of the business as planned, according to company policies. Every transaction should be authorized, approved, executed and recorded. The most important measure to take is probably the subdivision of duties. By making sure that the same person or department does not handle a transaction completely from beginning to end but instead duties are divided amongst employee, the data is more reliable and will have fewer errors. With the subdivision of duties businesses should also separate accounting function from custody of assets. What this means is that an employee who has access to or is in charge of an asset should not keep the accounting record for the asset. This guideline protects the assets from inefficient use, wasting or theft. Subdivision of duties also aids in the prevention of fraud. This way one employee’s work verifies the work of the other reducing opportunities for engaging in fraud are restricted. Organizations could also adopt measures like internal auditing, financial forecasts, serially numbering documents and training personnel so that they are competent to achieve internal control.
The business I chose for my report, FGI world, is a private counseling firm with offices around the world. To ensure control over cash payments and cash receipts in the business duties are divided among the employees. One employee receives the mail. He is responsible for opening and adding all the cheques. Another person has the job of adding them up again and depositing them in the bank. The two totals are matched everyday to ensure that there are no discrepancies. In this business all payments are by cheques and no credit cards or cash payments are processed. There are also different employees to invoice the customer and to apply the payments to the customers account.
In smaller businesses in which divisions of duties would be impractical three cash related internal control practices would be to have in place a good cash register system, a daily audit of cash transactions and an audit trail.
When it comes to ensuring that all money is received and recorded for every sale made for the purpose of recording revenue a monthly reconciliation of Bank account and accounts receivable and a monthly reconciliation of budgeted revenue and actual revenue are performed. Separate journals and subsidiary ledgers have been set up. By reconciling the accounts to one another, they are proving the equality of subsidiary ledgers to the controlling accounts. This process will help identify any errors.
Since FGI is a service business not a merchandising business they do not really have an inventory. However, management ensures that other assets such as office supplies are protected from waste and fraud by having an employee you distributes supplies and has a logging book where employees receiving the supplies have to sign off. This practice helps them monitor the use of the office supplies. To ensure that fixed assets are safe every fixed asset purchase is labeled or given a serial number. An inventory count is also done on a regular basis (twice a year).
Management ensures that all financial information is reliable by dividing duties. Each transaction is handled by several employees to ensure that data is accurate. An external auditor also conducts an audit every year.
A measure that could be taken to enhance the effectiveness of internal control in this company would be to introduce internal auditing. By having internal auditors who monitor the accounting controls, the efficiency and reliability of accounting information can improve. Another step they could take is to prepare a financial forecast. That is to organize a plan of operation to set goals for each division of the business. At the end of each month when actual results are compared with forecast amounts management can inspect changes from their intended results.

Elkins Casinos
There seems to be no question that, at least in the short term, the spread of video lottery
has been profitable from a business standpoint. In the first year of operation of these machines,
under the Limited Video Lottery Act of 001, revenues exceeded projected figures, with sales of
$46 million. By the end of the 00 fiscal year, those sales are expected to top $170 million, a
70% increase.
These machines are profitable not only for the state, but for small business owners as well.
One local Elkins bar owner, after holding out on a welcome to the machines, recently added them.
When asked why in a recent article in the Inter-Mountain, he stated the obvious “They’re
profitable.”
Not only are established businesses profiting from these machines, but they’re also
creating a market for establishments catering specifically to video gaming. In Elkins alone,
several of the new wave of chain “casinos” have opened over the last few months.
So, from a business standpoint, video gambling seems to be paying off. But, what of the
people playing the games? Some politicians look to the economic and social consequences faced
by these people. Senator Sarah Minear recently stated, “I think the people that play the machines
are the ones that can least afford it.”
What ethical responsibility should the state government take? Governments seem to
legislate morality, until they can profit from it. The state is getting its cut from the profits, then
taxing the profits made on the machines by the businesses housing the machines and the vendors
that tend them at the rate of 8% to 5%.
Even from a sheer profitability standpoint, we’re yet to see what economic impact these
machines will have in the long run. Senator Minear said of video gaming, “It creates a financial
hardship on the families which will ultimately be on the state and taxpayers.”
In the short term, some are profiting (some very much so), and some (the gamblers who
can’t afford it) are not. It will be interesting to see what will happen from social and economic
standpoints over the years to come.

Analysing ‘Disabled’
By Wilfred Owen
The poem is divided in to six stanzas with inconsistent number of verses. Owen uses an irregular ABAB rhyme and although there is a rhythm present in the poem, it is not held consistent in every verse however most of the verses contain 10 syllables. In the first stanza Owen talks about the life of a solder after the war and in the second stanza it switches to talking about the memories of the “old times”, in each stanza this switches in the setting is made with exception of the last stanza which breaks the pattern and also takes place after the war.
The poem is written in first person. Alliterations are used three times in this poem to highlight key ideas. In verse five the crippled soldier is longing for the pleasures of his past life as he listens to the “Voices of play and pleasure after day”. In verse nine the mention of “girls glanced” underlines the destruction of his appearance and his affect on the opposite sex, which is clearly another great loss for the soldier as it is mentioned threw out the poem. The last alliteration is in verse 1, “lifetime lapsed” this shows the idea that the soldier’s life is over. He no more can enjoy the pleasure of being cheered on by a crowd or having a lot of admiring attention as he was used to. The soldier is clearly very unhappy with his life and has nothing to look forward to, he sits alone and as shown in the first verse is “waiting for dark”. The solders life has changed extreme he is no more the popular star athlete, which he once was but rather a depressive and helpless creature. He lost his pride and spirit on the battlefield, “He’s lost his colour far from hear, Poured it down shell-holes till the veins ran dry” (verse 17-18). The loss of his colour is an under understatement for all the sacrifice which to boy has made in the war, he left his happiness and joy of life on the battlefield.
The boy enlisted to empress girls even though he was to young to go to war. This in its self is ironic, as he did not need to go to war but still did. However there is more irony the poem, this popular boy who was full of vanity failed in his attempt to receive admiration and instead lost his arm and both legs and with it his social status and attraction from the opposite sex “…Woman’s eyes passed from him to stronger men that where whole.”(verse 4-44). The word “whole” is referring not only to his physical status but also to his mental state as he feels that he has lost his man hood and is worthless. The only attention, which he now receives, is pity “and takes whatever pity they may dole” (verse 4). The poem describes a scene after a football game in which the boy seems to have made a scoring point; “After the matches, carried shoulder-high” (verse ) he is celebrated much more then when he returns from the war, “Only a solemn man who brought him fruit” (verse 8). This is also ironic, as he has sacrificed so much more in the war as he did in the football game where he merely had a “blood smear down his leg” (verse 1).
In the last two verses there is a repetition, “why don’t they come?”, this repetition ends the poem and strengthens the idea that he is now dependant on others for everything. The poem begins and ends on this topic, in the first verse his dependency on a wheelchair is mentioned and in the last two verses his needs to be put into bed by some one else. However he is forgotten and needs to wait of nurses to put him into bed. People where still interested in him when he left to war as a proud man “And soon he was drafted out with drums and cheers” (verse 6) but when he came back as a cripple no one admired him anymore, there only feeling towards him was occasional pity.
The soldier was drunk when he enlisted and did not know what he was getting himself into “And no fear of fear came yet. He thought of jewelled kilts” (verse 1-), this shows his ignorance toward war and what it is really like. When he enlisted he did not waste a thought about the consequences, he was only striving for attention. However he strongly regrets this decision afterwards and can not understand why he enlisted, “He wonders why” (verse 4).
The tone of the poem is set in the first stanza by the use of words such as ‘dark’, ‘grey’, ‘shivered’, and ‘saddening’. The picture of a isolated soldier is strong and the reader has pity for his situation. In the second stanza the mood switches dramatically to show the happy memories, there is a strong clash from this to the soldier’s present situation. From dark to light and from grey to gay. I think the poet porously made such a change in his tone to show sturdily how much misery the war can cause.
I feel that Disabled is an exceptionally well-written poem. I enjoyed that the solders personality was described very clearly; this helps the reader to develop an emotional connection to the pain and loss, which the boy suffered. William Owen did an excellent job in mentioning ideas more that once in the poem, he repeatedly came back to previously mentioned ideas. I enjoyed the thorough description and reasoning made about the development of the solders life and suffering after the war.

Promotion
Objectives
• Program Awareness
-In order to reach their target market, they need to focus on their objectives. Bogus Basin first of all needs to focus on making new customers be aware of the programs that they offer.
-Most of Bogus Basin’s marketing budget averaged 6% of total revenues for promoting their ski resort. They need to spend more money on their promotion strategies in order to reach their target market. They’ve only focused on promoting their discount preseason passes known as the “First Tracks.”
-They’ve hired a local advertising agency and a print shop to conceive and produce a variety of marketing communication tools
-In order to provide customers information on the services that they provide, they need to advertise themselves using brochures. .
-Director of skier services and staff made tactical-level product, promotion, and pricing decisions such as adding a new type of ski lesson program, producing new trail maps and brochures.
-They’ve used the promoting technique of direct mail that targeted current and past season holders.
-Bogus Basin used radio, television, and newspaper advertising to reach non-pass holders and newcomers to the Boise area.
They also targeted special mountain events such as races or equipment demonstration days and also were used to announce the start of ski school sessions.
• Program Knowledge
-The second objective Bogus Basin needs to focus on is providing new customers detailed information about their ski resort.
-They need to provide information on the different levels that they offer for beginners, intermediates, and experts. The ski resort has several ski tracks for all levels.
-In order to achieve their promotion objectives and provide knowledge to their customers,, they need to use such tools as ads, sales promotion, public relations, and sales force.
-Bogus Basin uses personal selling to promote its very popular after-school learn-to-ski program for junior and senior high school student. The program was relatively inexpensive for students because it included transportation between Bogus Basin and selected schools, chairlift tickets, lessons, and equipment rentals.
-Bogus Basin also maintained a Website mainly used by skiers to check snow conditions and to learn about upcoming programs and events.
• Program Trial
-The third objective Bogus Basin needs to focus is on having customers try out their ski resort.
-Bogus Basin need to offer discounts or special rates for certain days so that new members can test out the ski tracks and the services that Bogus Basin provides.
-They can offer a single day ticket for adults at the price of one. If the customers are satisfied and have fun at the ski resort, they may want to buy a season pass.
-They can promote by letting any new customers ski for free if they come with a person that already has a season pass.
-Offer new programs and have customers try it out. When the committee recommended a $5.00 ski day, it drew 5,500 visitors to the ski resort.
• Program Repeat
-The final step is to focus on customers purchasing their season passes or daily passes again.
-If Bogus Basin wants to have customers coming back to the ski resort, they will need to do survey on the customers to see what they do or what they do not like about the ski resort.
-Results from the surveys provides Bogus Basin information on what they need to work on to provide customer satisfaction so that they will want to come back to the ski resort.
Conclusion
Based on my Promotional findings, Bogus Basin needs to focus a lot more on their promotion strategy to encourage more customers to try our their ski resort. Since they’re only spending 6% of their revenue on promoting and advertising, they’re not reaching all of their target market. Perhaps they can advertise on billboards, commercials, or magazines. With the Push/Pull marketing tactics that Bogus Basin tried, it’s best that they mainly focus on the Push which is information that is directly delivered to the customers. For example, direct mail and e-mail which are good examples of PUSH information, delivered right to your mailbox. The Web Site that Bogus Basin has is an example of PULL information, for anyone to view as they wish by browsing the address. The Viewer is in control of the PULL.

"The Great Gatsby" Analithical
We are ready to represent the best custom paper writing assistance that can cope with any task like "The Great Gatsby" Analithical even at the eleventh hour. In the Novel “The great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald it’s a book that relates how people live through many struggles to reach the one goal The American dream. The way that the writers express his Idea toward the American dream is by giving us this quote “Then wear the gold hat, if that will move her If you can bounce high, bounce for her too, so she cry, gold hated, high bouncer lover I must have you” This quote brings in the main idea for the meaning toward a American dream.
The values of this book are based on the two main characters in which are based on Jay Gatsby and Tom. These two characters have different perspectives toward life. Jay Gatsby had a dream and kept it strong by believing that one day he was going to reach it. “Looking at the green light” This shows that the green light was his inspiring, and motivating object. He tries his best to succeed and knew that his American dream was to be with Daisy. By knowing his goal and dreams, he tries and kept strong by trying his best and showing his values of an honorable man. By showing his friendship to nick and showing him that if he needed help he was there. He kept his lawn clean and green and by seen that Nick had a problem with his lawn, he reach out and helped him by sending his man to cut Nicks lawn. In the other hand Tom was an arrogant man that didn’t have a dream and was didn’t care much for his life. He is all about showing his money and being very materialistic. He didn’t appreciate Daisy, and was an abusive man by hitting the women he was cheating with Daisy. He had as much money as he had but didn’t use it for something that will help him to reach a dream, which is because he doesn’t have a dream.
The treatment of the people in this novel it’s quite different depending on the situation. The way Jay treated Nick before he knew about his cousin Daisy, He started being nice to him and taking him out. Also giving Nick trust by telling him about school and were he comes from. By this point Jay was kind and gentle. He showed Nick that he was more then a mystery man, and more of a gentle quiet man with a lot to offer and a lot of dreams ready to be made. The way tom was, wasn’t quite good he has a bad temper. By treating people less then what he is, maybe because of their life styles and how much they had. He treated Daisy badly by cheating on her, and by mistreating the ladies. One of them it was when he hit the girl he was cheating with Daisy. He showed trough out book that he was very arrogant and dire, and used people to reach to things that weren’t in his power.
Passion for life is shown or is the main theme in this book. As we read along the book he end up realizing the two main and different characters they were at this novel. Jay Gatsby was a passionate man that never gave up through out many struggles and taking many responsibilities. He had the dream and the desire to be with Daisy and to live a happy life in with his green-blue lawn. He showed that giving up wasn’t in his type of life style and he showed in many ways. He threw parties to attract the attention to Daisy and to let her know that someone like her, rich and powerful lived as her neighbor. Tom didn’t have any dreams and mistreated people. He used then and had no true good friends. He showed that he was all about his money and his power. Passion for life was very important. This book has a point of view toward an American dream. And it was developed by Jay, and it teaches me that when passion and love are involved in a dream it has a better chance to be done.

¢ñ.Introduction
Thomas Hardy is one of the the most important authors in British literature . Hardys own life wasnt similar to his stories. He was born on the Egdon Heath, in Dorset, near Dorchester. His father was a master mason and building contractor, his mother, whose tastes included Latin poets and French romances, provided for his education. After schooling in Dorchester Hardy was apprenticed to an architect. At the age of Hardy moved to London and started to write poems, which idealized the rural life. In 1867 Hardy left London for the family home in Dorset, and resumed work briefly with Hicks in Dorchester. He entered into a temporary engagement with Tryphena Sparks, a sixteen-year-old relative. Hardy continued his architectural work, but encouraged by Emma Lavinia Gifford, he started to consider literature as his true vocation. Unable to find public for his poetry, the novelist George Meredith advised Hardy to write a novel.
Tess of The D¡¯Urberville(181) came into conflict with Victorian morality. It explored the dark side of his family connections in Berkshire. In the story the poor villager girl Tess Durbeyfield is seduced by the wealthy Alec DUberville. She becomes pregnant but the child dies in infancy. Tess finds work as a dairymaid on a farm and falls in love with Angel Clare, a clergymans son. They marry but when Tess tells Angel about her past, he hypocritically desert her. Tess becomes Alecs mistress. Angel returns from Brazil, repenting his harshness, but finds her living with Alec. Tess kills Alec in desperation, she is arrested and hanged.
In this paper I will analyze their characters through their sayings, activities and so on. Tess is the tragic story of a beautiful country girl. It is the truthful portrayal of the tragic lot of a poor girl, a pure woman, ruined by the bourgeois society. Alec and Angel are the direct makers of Tess¡¯ tragic destiny. In other words, their destinies are interwoven tightly. And their characters is the determinative factor in their destinies.
¢ò. Analysis of the Main Characters
.1. Tess Durbeyfield
¡°She (Tess) can flirt, she can listen, she can sympathize, she can work with her hands. Except when it is mocked or thwarted, she is superbly at ease with her sexuality¡±. (Howe 105) In no way an intellectual, she has a clear sense of how to reject whatever fanatic or pious nonsense comes her way.... Her womanly softness does not keep her from clear judgments, even toward her beloved Angel she can sometimes be blunt.... ¡°At least twice in the book Tess seems to Hardy and the surrounding characters larger than life, but in all such instances it is not to make her a goddess or a metaphor, it is to understand her embattled womanliness¡±. (Howe 10)
.11. loyal
In Trantridge, facing the beau Alec¡¯s blandishments, Tess is apathetic, and tried her best to keep away from Alec. This shows that Tess preserves her moral integrity. Unfortunately, in a dark night, she is seduced by Alec. But her mind is still pure. So in the farm, when Angel pays court to her, though she loves him very much, she still refuses him again and again. Because her pure heart doesn¡¯t permit her to do so, ¡° it is a wrong to him, and may kill him when he knows!¡± (Hardy 84) she thinks. At last, her love overcomes her contadictory mind. She consents to Angel¡¯s proposal. Because of her loyalty to Angel , she writes a letter to tell Angel about her terrible past. But Angel doesn¡¯t receive it. So in the wedding night, Tess herself tells him about her past. After Angel leaves her relentlessly, she still is loyal to him, even for him, she uglifies herself to avoid aggressive admiration, ¡°¡took a handkerchief from her bundle and tied it round her face under her bonnet, covering her chin and half her cheeks and temples, ¡ she mercilessly nipped her eyebrows off,¡¡±(Hardy 588) Later, the one of the reaons that she struggles with Alec even kills him, is also because she loves Angel and feels she should be loyal to him, and show her purity. So the author gives this novel a subhead ¡°A Pure Woman¡±. If she doesn¡¯t tell Angel her past ,perhaps the tragedy will not take place .So her character loyal affects her destiny in a sense .
.1 responsible
Tess has sense of duty of the extremely strong one, if she is selfish, the wilful one, then this enormous tragedy would not take place , she is still unlikely to move towards destroying in other words. Tess¡¯ self-respect copy unwilling to go and find relatives, but because livelihood compels, people are difficult to keep in the family of people, then she bears the responsibility for saving familys suffering . As a result, she has known the Alec Durberville. But she is from disliking him in the heart of hearts . However when Alec jokes Tess in car at not taking liberties with Tess, She has already detested him, calls to in a stern voice I do not like you at all! I dislike you, I hate you, hate you! (Hardy 577) As people, as one young dignity of Miss she receives the great injury especially. She really wants to get off and go home, does not go to D¡¯Urbervilles house to work , but can not bear to let the whole family endure the torments of hunger. After old horse dies, because of the responsibility Tess is full of guilty, thinks to regenerate matter of fundamental importance of property by oneself and remove difficulties and alleviate sufferings for parents, she just strides forward the threshold of the home of D¡¯Urberville in this kind of environment of having no alternative. The play-boy Alec uses all sorts of snares and tricks so as that she loses her chaste. She bear disgrace get back to home, in her before second time inveigled by Alec after the month, because the family circumstances are difficult, father dies of illness, the house is regained , whole family perch in the street, in addition Alec presses forward steadily, her surrender again, meant and sold oneself to Alec too that had brought the taking and living of whole family.
.1 resisting
Tess another main characteristic of personality is firm, she has the spirit of the resisting. This outstanding behaviour is on the relation between she and Alec. Alec relies on wealth tendency, pretend a good man that is not non-. Tess dislikes him from the beginning, has vigilance to him. After Alec has stained her, she does not listen to the other sides sweet words, leaves away angrily. Later, while seeing him again, she finds him as the pastor, thinking this is satirizing greatly to the religion, with the acrimonious ugliness of revealing him with merciless language. For preventing him from pestering again, she hits him with the glove yet. Finally, she realizes that after Alec destroyed her for the second time, she lights the raging fire revenging at last, picks up the knife in all desperation , has killed him. As woman that resists, Tess despises and denies the religion, criticize the dishonesty of the religion. She leaves religion monastic rule for Buddhists alone, gives illegitimate child of her to do baptism for pastor by oneself, It is obvious she contempts in religion and how s fierceness is resistance! On later stage of the 1th century, British church and law all expressed regulations Forbid men to marry younger sister of wife dying. (Chen 155)And Tess hopes her husband marry younger sister of her after dying, not compromise to the religion till death. As woman that resists , Tess makes struggle unyielding with the environment that oppresses her . Tess loses virginity and receives the criticism of the force of habit naturally, but she is unreconciled to and defeated by life, About public opinion, regards for oneself and conducts oneself with dignity , covers up ones own pass by, leaves hometown resolutely , opposes the traditional chaste and undefiled view. If she doesn¡¯t leave she will not get the true love of Angel and she will not marry him.
.14 weak fatalistic
Undoubtedly, Tess¡¯ gracious qualities and rebel spirit should be appreciated, but as a descendant of downfallen nobility, Tess was born in a present family and affected by some old conceptions of morality and fatalism. We can see it in the whole novel, especially in the relation between Tess and Angel. As everyone knows, Tess is seduced by Alec, it is not her own will, she is a victim, so essentially she is pure, but she feels herself guilty. Therefore, she obeys Angel like a slaver, and is willing to recept any punishment Alec has measured to her, even the repudiation. On the contrary, she thinks that Alec is right whatever he does. For the sake of getting Angel¡¯s forgiveness, she could lose her life. Sometimes, she doesn¡¯t know the root of her sufferings at all. She thinks it¡¯s her fata, and she has no power to change it, and it¡¯s unuseful to revolt. .. Angel Clare
.1 hypocritical self-centered
Angel is a bourgeois intellectual, the temporal bias and bourgeois traditional conception still exists in his mind. Whatever he does just for his own benefit. On surface. He is a gentleman, but in essence he is hypocritical, self-centered and relentless man. At first, he studies the knowledge of farming just he wants to be a master of a great farm. He proposes to Tess again and again, because she is beautiful and industrious, she will be a competent and good housewife, she will brings him ¡°convenience¡± and ¡°welfare¡±. He pays court to Tess with his sweet words, promises that he will love her forever in any way. He ever attempts to change Tess so that she will fit for him better. When he learns that Tess is a descendant of an ancient aristocrat, he is happy because it can heighten Tess¡¯ social position. When Tess confesses her past to him, he immediately changes his attitude to Tess. He regards her as wanton and deceitful woman, he hurts her with his words, such as ¡°You were one person; now you are another.¡± ¡°Different societies, different manners. You almost make me say you are an unapprehending peasant woman, who have never been initiated into the proportions of social things.¡±(Zhang ) He just thinks that he is cheated, but in fact Tess is a victim, she need his comfort. Regardless of Tess¡¯ suffering, he repudiates her relentlessly. In Para.40, Angel ever ask Izz with him to go to Brazil, because she will be a good free worker. However finally he doesn¡¯t do so. At last, after he gets a great suffering in Brazil, he returns and looks for Tess, because she is always kind to him, and she can give him happiness. The personality of Angel cause leaving her resolutely after knowing the past of Tess . When he is suffering all kinds of sufferings in the other places, he comes back and find Tess. Everything is to regard oneself as the centre, he has never thought of the impression of Tess. These bring Tess enormous suffering.
. scheming
Angels outstanding behaviours of the personality are adept at scheming to the elaborate plan that repents. He arranges ones own confession at the newly-married night specially. He thinks that it was that Tess was got rid of his last chance on the first day before getting married. After wedding festivities Tess is unable to escape again . This is because the thought of people of view of marriage of times of Victoria fetter. Repent to bride ones own fault to can not lose own loved people in newly-married an night. Angel at this moment can be regarded as free from all inhibitions.how s unfairness to Tess! Any place ones own happiness on this kind selfish and grim, deceitful hypocrite hope of body to destine and want and evaporate. The tragedy of the tongue silk is just because of this too.
. progressive
He was born in a clergy family, but ¡°Early association with country solitudes had bred in him an unconquerable, and almost unreasonable, aversion to modern life, and shut him out from such success as he might have aspired to by following a mundane calling in the impracticability of the spiritual one.¡±(Zhang 65) he would rather give up the chance of going to Cambridge than decide to take on farming, and hopes ¡°becoming well qualified for the business by a careful apprenticeship¡±(Chen 144) He takes a real delight in farm-folks¡¯ companionship. Tess has the common ground with him , that makes them to get together each other and loves each other.
.. Alec Durberville
.1 wicked, guileful.
Alec is wicked and guileful. In order to get Tess, he writes a letter under the name of his mother to deceive Tess to work for him. He uses the blandishments to be close to Tess, looking for any chance to possess Tess. He is good at catching Tess¡¯ weakness. On one side he makes use of Tess¡¯ responsibility for her family, on the other side he deceives Tess that Angel will never return. Finally, Tess is compelled to be his mistress again. Of course, I don¡¯t think he loves Tess really. He just likes her beauty as he likes a beautiful toy. In order to possess Tess forever, he even proposes to Tess. When Tess tells him that she loves a man and has married to him. Alec ¡°stopped dead and gazed at her. ¡ a flash of his old irony marked his face.¡±(Hardy 544)) Because he doesn¡¯t permit his ¡°puppet¡± to become another man¡¯s. So When he finds that Tess and Angel meet again, he is angry and speaks sarcastically to Tess.
Although he ruins Tess twice. But in my opinion, to some extent he is more lovely than Angel. He never hides his ambition of possessing Tess. He lilkes Tess, not because she can be a good housewife, just for she is Tess. In addition, he satisfies Tess and her family material need at least. But Angel doesn¡¯t.
. undisguised
Hes straightforward with regard to what he wants and how he attains it. Even in his kindest moments its clear that hes concerned only with himself. Alec is narcissistic (self- loving) and takes advantage of other peoples weaknesses. Near the end of the novel he convinces Tess to be his mistress by promising to care for her destitute family. He is also capricious; look, for instance, at his sudden conversion to Evangelism and how quickly he abandons it once hes in love again with Tess. Even though he has done much harm to Tess, he does offer to marry her. When he learns shes already wed, he still wants to help her and her family. Alec admires Tess for not kowtowing to him; at the same time he wants to dominate her again. Because of the character ,he seduces Tess .
¢ó.Conclusion
The novel is about Tess- her personality, trials, growth, and development. While many novels concern the interaction of characters, Tess of the DUrbervilles concentrates almost single-mindedly on the life of its heroine. The other characters are important only insofar as they affect Tess fate. Some readers see Tess as a detailed story of the psychology of an unchaste woman- how she deals with her own morality.
Tess can also be viewed as the symbol of valiant challenge against both the rigid morality and religious dogma of the old order, and the skepticism of the modern world. Tess story is that of a woman who tries to respond to the changing world around her with honesty and integrity. She can be viewed as an independent, active heroine who chooses martyrdom. She can also be seen as a victim either of society or of her own nature, who has no choice but to let herself be destroyed.
¡°The female in her was indomitable, unchangeable, she was utterly constant to herself. But she was, by long breeding, intact from mankind. Though Alec dUrberville was of no kin to her, yet, in the book, he has always a quality of kinship.¡±(Lawrence 55) It was as if only a kinsman, an aristocrat, could approach her. And this to her undoing. Angel Clare would never have reached her... It needed a physical aristocrat.... Alec dUrberville forced her to realize him, and to realize herself.
Hardy sets the culminating family tragedy against the ominous background of the Lady Day migration of so many village folk. The erasure of long local life by these contemporary migrations, Hardy perceived, was a grave social and spiritual loss. It is no accident of art that the story of Tess should end amid scenes of uprooting.... Only a place in the family vault, a home there, remains to the derelict inheritors [the Durbeyfields]. It is this homeless despair of a family which has lost its rights and independence in the village community, that gives Tess finally into the invaders power.
Angel and Alec appear as figures of Victorian society hovering around Tess, but misunderstanding her, unworthy of her, unable to match her natural strength and spontaneity.... ¡°Both are statements about the principal character types of the Victorian middle class- the cruel bourgeois and the disinherited intellectual both are without roots, both show a split between thought and feeling, both lack an adequate image of selfhood.¡± LaValley (LaValley 4)
In short, the author succeeds in portraying these three main characters. Now we see why this novel is so attractive. Through the analysis about them, also it can helps us to understand the theme profoundly that the author wants to express. Their destinies are interwoven tightly. And their characters is the determinative factor in their destinies.

Because the world is ¡°blighted¡±.(Hardy 55) One time, she ¡° bent down upon the entrance to the vaults, and said ¡®Why am I on the wrong side of this door!¡±(Hardy 588) Consequently, at the end of the novel, Tess ¡° flung herself upon an oblong slab that lay close at hand,¡±(Hardy 600) waits for the arrest , for her eventual death quietly.

Australian executives are working long hours just to deal with the vast quantity of emails they receive. Many of the emails read at work are from colleagues and friends and messages are often jokes or social messages. Such is level of the problem that recent surveys mentioned, and identified as ‘information fatigue syndrome’, where email users are bombarded with so much information they simply cannot cope.
Email can present a potentially enormous drain on the time of staff these result in staff conflict, reduce staff productivity and expose the organisation to legal action.

Privacy
There are five major areas which trigger privacy matters in the area of public sector employment background checks, cognizance of off duty conduct and lifestyles, drug testing, workplace searches, and monitoring of workplace activity. Of these five, the fifth area of privacy, monitoring of workplace activity, is the most controversial. The reason for this is the advance of technology. These conflicts open anew the basic questions as to what is private, what is propriety, what legal rights an employee possesses, and what an employee’s obligations and responsibilities are within the sphere of public employment. This is one area where an employees privacy interests may be violated in a technological environment by fellow employees who may use bulletin boards to post embarrassing information or defamatory messages to be read by others. This conception of privacy can also be extended to a claim against pervasive intrusion by employers into employees work activities. An employee may feel constant camera surveillance, monitoring of phone calls and computer use, and an accounting for every minute of duty time reflects an omnipresent, oppressive employer, who exhibits little trust and little respect for the employee.

Internet usage
In 15, the Internet first gained a serious foothold. Workers could now send written communications in
Seconds rather than minutes; look up information in minutes rather than hours;
And perform complex business-to-business transactions in hours rather than days.
In short, the Internet streamlined time-consuming business tasks and cut down
Needless bureaucracies. Yet, while the Net introduced e-mail, e-commerce and
Research tools, it also fostered e-zines, ETrade and e-porn. And recently it has
Opened even more avenues in entertainment, gambling and shopping, becoming a
Central source of leisure and enjoyment for employees. Because of this, the
Internet is beginning to create negative productivity and “hostile workplace”
problems.
While e-mail was the first Internet application to take hold of corporate Australia,
the World Wide Web clearly had the biggest impact. Little did scientists Tim
Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau know how dramatically their modest research
paper “WorldWideWeb Proposal for a HyperText Project” (November, 10)
would boldly transform the business world. Berners-Lee and Cailliau envisioned
a simple navigational tool linking computer data, text or graphics, together into a
web of pages. Hence, the designation “World Wide Web” was born. People
around the world would be able to view information on others’ computers through
a single, basic interface. This is a soure from the Websense White Paper Series Internet Usage and the Workplace on March 1 1, by Allan Hancowski
As such, corporate Internet access has shifted from an information technology
issue networks and firewalls to a human resources issue. As this shift
continues, human resource professionals will be relied upon to take a greater role
in managing employee Internet usage. Departments will be challenged to
make the Internet a benefit for both the corporation and the employee.
The Internet has allowed people to go from the office to just about anywhere to conduct business. This ability has led to telecommuting - working at a location outside of the traditional office setting. People can work from home, while on vacation, or even when traveling by plane or car! Most telecommuters work from home to enjoy the benefits of staying at home while having a career as well.
Telecommuting has many benefits for the employees, but also offers advantages to the employers as well. One of the most obvious advantages is to be able to work at anytime, day or night, that is most convenient for the employee . Employees may have increased productivity since they are free from the everyday hassles of the office such as office politics, gossip, non-essential meetings, and all the commotion that tends to be in an office atmosphere. atmosphere that is comfortable, familiar.
Time and Resources
Regular exercise has been credited as one of the most important factors in preventing and alleviating the symptoms of mental illness. According to the Amustralian Psychological Association, exercise can relieve the symptoms of stress, depression and anxiety and can help people with more serious disorders such as schizophrenia and manic-depression. Norwegian psychiatrist Egil Martinesen, M.D., director of the Psychiatric Clinic in Forde, Norway, showed in 185 that adding exercise to the psychotherapy of 4 depressed patients significantly lowered their levels of depression. Other researchers have found similar links between exercise and mood.
“Exercise is about as close to a panacea as you can get, and I don’t believe in panaceas,” says Jerry May, Ph.D., former chair of the. Olympic Committee’s Sports Psychology Committee and psychiatry professor at the University of Ferendo at Reno’s School of Medicine.
“It is a health inducer, a stress reducer and a self-confidence booster.”
Everyone responds to stress in a different manner. What is distressing for one person may be exciting and positive to another. Our response to stress is determined by our ability to cope with the demands and expectations put on us by internal and external sources. Incorporating good health habits and attitudes in our everyday lives helps maintain both physical and mental health.
Healthy workplace
The worksite is a key venue for promoting health for large segments of the population because of the direct benefits to companies and because so many people spend a large portion of their time at work. Also, it is one of the key environments that affect mental well-being and health. There are many factors involved in promoting employees’ well-being and mental health. Improving employee health requires change at the individual, organizational and population levels. This type of change happens through a comprehensive, balanced approach focusing on health practices and the relationship between employees and their environments. The WHO says there are three main issues employers and managers face as they attempt to address the mental health needs of their employees. Recognition and acceptance of mental health as a legitimate concern of organizations. As disability costs and absenteeism increase in the workplace due to mental ill health regardless of the precipitating factors more and more employers are faced with the challenge of developing policies and guidelines to address these issues.
Employers working with their governments and various health organizations should consider implementing nationwide “healthy workplace weeks” to draw attention to big-picture employee health strategies.
One of the most effective strategies to alleviate workplace problems caused by stress and employee well-being issues is the establishment of company-sponsored employee assistance programs (EAPs). In his keynote speech at the 1th Annual Rosalynn Carter Symposium on mental health, Richard G. Frank, Ph.D., professor of health economics at Harvard Medical School, cited data that shows a $ return for businesses on every dollar they spend on EAPs. According to the National Mental Health Association, all evidence indicates that appropriate use of behavioral health benefits, such as EAPs, reduces the inappropriate use of general medical care. EAPs typically provide supportive, diagnostic, referral and counseling treatment services. Traditionally, EAP programs were established to assist employees dealing with alcoholism and drug addiction, but they have broadened in scope to help employees resolve personal and work related problems. section.

Almost every distinctive member of staff is outfitted with a mobile phone. Mobile phones are for employees to contact the business while working outside. Usage in the office ought to be reserved to a lowest amount. Mobile phones are very useful and convenient in the place of work and outside of the workplace, as there is no cord and phone line. Again mobile has so many advantages such as messaging, downloading, receiving emails and calls from overseas or local.

Report
This report includes the following information about is about certain aspects, uses and the effects on the labour force and nature of work.
‘Email has bein such a convlict in our know business environments these days’, says Kirsty Hughs (Employer of Australian Accountants)

Workers could now send written communications in
Seconds rather than minutes; look up information in minutes rather than hours;
ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL
Before and even after the Declaration of Independence was signed white men owned slaves. Even though the Declaration of Independence states, All men are created equal, many people had to work for equality. The Declaration of Independence was rooted in fairness and equality. In this essay, I intend to summarize, analyze, and explain this phrase in the Declaration of Independence.
Even though each person is unique and different each person is born with equal rights. Yes, every individual has different talents and abilities and some are better than the others, but each person no matter what their faults or differences deserves the respect to be treated equally. Because Americans were born with equal rights that gives us the right to vote, the right to not be discriminated because of race or ethnic background, and the right with common ability to make a choice for the destiny of our own life. It is how we choose that separates us from others.
Many brave men and woman had to climb over high obstacles to receive the equality that you and I enjoy today. For instance, Abraham Lincoln felt like Americas principles and morals were decaying. He understood the phrase all men are created equal this was his ground for the abolition of slavery. Abraham Lincoln said that the founding framers, intended to include all men, but they did not intend to declare all men equal in all respects. They did not mean to say all were equal in color, size, intellect, moral developments, or social capacity. Abraham Lincoln also believed in the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Fortunately, Abraham Lincolns ideas lead to the abolition of slavery.
If we did not have freedom and equality there would be no 4th of July. The nation was divided on the issue of slavery. Many Americans argued that African Americans were not allowed the same rights, but did the constitution specify which men were created equal? Some Americans even believed that African Americans could not have rights because they were not citizens. For example, in the Dred Scott case Judge Taney said in so many words that they were not citizens because they were not specifically in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. But Judge Curtis, said in five of the then thirteen states...free negroes were voters, and, in proportion to their numbers, had the same part in making the Constitution that the white people had. The fact that the African Americans played the same part as the whites in the Constitution meant that they then had the same amount of freedom as the whites. Meaning that they were citizens.
Because Thomas Jefferson said that all men are created equal, today slavery is considered unconstitutional. If all mankind would search their hearts the pure heart that the creator of mankind put in their bosoom they would have always sought for equality among all men that dwelled together on the earth he created. But a better statement would be The worth of souls is equal in the creators eye. How can we treat one of his creations with less dignity and respect? As procreators do we not love all we create? The constitution was applicable to all men or women at all times. The creator put his seal upon it.

The Argentine Republic, with its .757.407 Km (1,450,76 sq.miles) of surface, is located in the meridional hemisphere in respect to the Equator, it is crossed by the Tropic of Capricorn in the Continental American region and in the Antarctic Polar Circle in Antarctic. In respect to the Greenwich Meridian it is located in the western hemisphere.
The maximun lenght between north and south is .64 Km. (,5 miles) If we extend it to the South Pole, it reaches about 7,50 Km. (4,716 miles) A consequence of this is the wide variety of climates that the country offers, from tropical and subtropical warm climate in the norh, to polar cold in Antarctica.
The maximun lenght in regard to longitudes is 1.4 Km. (884 miles) It goes from the province of Misiones to the catamarqueña puna.
Apart from the american and antarctic portions, the Argentine Republic also has an oceanic portion, composed by some islands, the bottom of the ocean and the oceanic mass, as established by the Convention of the Sea in 18 .
It is considered a formal geographical region a portion of territory characterized by some kind of similitary in its relief, in its climate and in its resources. In the Argentine Republic, we can distinguish eight formal geographical regions.
Platense Prairie
This region comprises the northeast sector of Argentina. The Pilcomayo, Paraguay and Alto Paran?rivers define its septentrional limit. To the West, the limits are represented by the lower parts of a big western mountainous mass. To the south, the limit is the Colorado river and, to the East, the Aguapey river, the Uruguay river, the river Plate and the Atlantic Ocean.
The big Argentine platense prairie, with 1,00,000 Km (465,000 sq.miles), includes the following subregions
Chaco
It is located in the Northeast part of the country. The limit with the pampeana prairie is gradual. Conventionally it is established along a line that goes from the northern point of the sierras of Córdoba and continues along the river-bed of the Salado del Norte river, to the Paran?river. To the North and East it is limited, respectively, by the Pilcomayo and Paraguay rivers.
Four morphological subunits can be distinguished High Chaco (soils composed by thick sands and slime), Chaco with depressions (large surfaces where there are swampy lands and marshlands), Low Chaco (clayish and arenaceous soils, lots of marshlands and frequent floods), and Fluvial Diagonal of Santiago del Estero (large marshlands).
Corrientes Swampy Lands
It is a depressed area. It is considered that, as the Alto Paran?was moving to the west, its waters accumulated sediments, mainly arenaceous, in the zones with depressions. Subsequently, the gradual predominance of a drier climatic cycle helped the formation of dunes, wich were fixed by vegetation. When the climate changed again, becoming wet, the low areas between the dunes were filled with water, giving birth to the marshlands. The most important marshlands are the ones of Iber? Maloyas, Batel and Santa Lucía.
Pampa
The pampa is the southern part of the big platense prairie. It is in the central and eastern zone of Argentina. So it is important to mention that the chaqueña prairie is of course, the septentrional limit of the pampeana prairie. It is a gradual strip often represented by a line that goes from the northern point of the sierras of Córdoba, to the course of Salado del Norte river, through wich it gets to the Paran?river.
Three subunits are distinguished in the Pampa Wavy Pampa (territory with slight ondulation, where we can distinguish the cliff, the fluvial terraces and the depression), Pampa with depression (characterized by permanent floods) and High Pampa (saltpetrous lagoons, salt pits and dunes).
Entre Ríos Hills
They go from the septentrional border of the plateau of Mercedes to a cliff which falls abruptly to the deltaica plain. Its limits are, to the East the Uruguay river, and to the West, the Paran?river.
The relief is slightly wavy, the soils have a large quanttity of clay and there are abundant rainfalls.
Deltaica Plain
This region, of about 14.000 Km (5,400 sq.miles) is limited by the entrerriana and santafecina-bonaerense cliff, wich are lines of fault that limit a submerged block, occupied by the delta of the Paran?river and the River Plate.
The constant deposit of sediments provided by the Paran?river constitute the origin of the islands, whose shores (ridges of fertile land), slightly high, are sheltered from the normal rising tides. The process of deltification, slow but steady, creates a constant change in the shape and size of the islands.
Subtropical Plateau
This geographical region is located in the northeast point of the Argentine Republic, as a wedge between Paraguay and Brasil. Its limits coincide with the political limits with these neighbor countries. The Aguapey river represents the limit with the correntinos marshlands. The rivers of this region, short and torrential, run parallel to each other and go down in the central region of sierras.
The plateau, under a constant erosion, mainly fluvial, shows an arched relief, slightly wavy, with slope to the Paraguay and Uruguay rivers from a central high area called sierra. Some hills of this geographical region reach almost 1.000 meters (,80 feet).
The outcropping of hard rocks (basalts and sandstones) caused many falls in the rivers and small streams. It is also worth mentioning the importance of the hidraulic potential of this region.
The noroeste
The Noroeste, traditional name of the northeastern corner of the Argentine Republic, comprises three subunits
The Puna
It is a large high plateau wich exceeds the limits with Chile and Bolivia. To the South, it goes to the austral hillside of the Sierra de Buenaventura. To the East, from the frontier with Bolivia, it is located on the Escaya and Cochinoca sierras, it continues to the west of the Guayatayoc lagoon, it crosses the Salinas Grandes, San Antonio de los Cobres, the western border of Calchaqu?valley, going to the southeast until the Sierra de Buenaventura.
The relief of the Puna is characterized by the presence of a series of plateaus. These plateaus, with an average height between ,000 and ,500 meters (10,000 and 11,500 feet), are divided by a strip of sierras, in general of volcanic origin.
Eastern Mountain Range
The western limit is also the eastern limit of the Puna, until Cafayate. From here it goes to the northern point of the Cumbres Calchaquíes and it continues along the Carahuasi, Metán and Zapla Sierras, until it gets to the superior course of the Bermejo River. In the eastern Mountain Range we can distinguish three big morphological units mountains, streams and valleys.
Subandinas Sierras
They are located between the eastern mountain range and the chaqueña prairie and composed by short and parallel sierras, directed to the northeast-southeast. The limit is gradual; it is set in the course of the Sal?river, including Medina and del Campo Sierras, in the northeast of Tucumán.
Cuyo
This region lays in the western part of the country, from the meridional border of the Puna to the latitude 7ºS. It is composed by a big orographic mass to the West and the low part of the mountains to the East.
The mountainous area is characterized by its high peaks with eternal snow and high ways most of the time closed by the snow during the Winter. Its highest peak, the Aconcagua, of 6,5 meters (,81 feet), is situated on the Principal Mountain Range. The plain part creates a large area in the low part of the mountains to the east of the mountainous range.
The Pampeanas Sierras
This region is located in the centre of the country and part of the Provinces of Tucumán, Catamarca, La Rioja, Santiago del Estero, Córdoba, San Luis and San Juan. In this region there are mainly long ranges of sierras, with flat peaks, divided with valleys, farms or bolsones they are mainly composed by cristaline rocks of precambric origin.
Patagonia
The Patagonia is located to the South of the Colorado River, it has two areas which are different in structure and morphology the Patagonia andina and Patagonia extraandina.
Patagonia andina
It is composed by the cordillerana orogeny and it is constituted by ranges divided with valleys and tectonic-glacial depressions, occupied by lagoons. The mountain peaks are covered with glaciers and have rect peaks and sharp needles. The rivers are torrential and respond to two slopes, that of the Atlantic and that of the Pacific.
Patagonia extraandina
It is a plateau formed by continental sea and volcanic sediments over a base. Its morphology is complex, having plateaus of different heights, regions of sierras, depressions and large fluvial valleys. The plateau has large arreicas, endorreicas regions and regions of salt mines. The rivers are formed in the Cordillera de los Andes or in the western plateaus.
Argentine Sea
With 1,000,000 km (86,000 sq.miles), the Argentine platform is one of the largest in the world. It is characterized because it is progressively wider as it goes south, in contrast with the narrowing of the continental mass. The platform has a series of plateaus which descend to the East as big terraces or steps.
Argentine Antarctica
This region lays on the tectonic antartic layers. Most of the year is covered by a thick mass of snow and ice. On teh surface layer there are rock exposures known as nunatak. On the ice surface, the wind creates the so-called sastrugis, something like a dune of ice.

As I Lay DyingA Rose for Emily
We are ready to represent the best custom paper writing assistance that can cope with any task like As I Lay DyingA Rose for Emily even at the eleventh hour. William Faulkner
William Faulkner’s, As I Lay Dying and A Rose for Emily, are both short stories about how problematic human beings tear the family apart one way or another, for worse. In both stories Faulkner represents these individuals with a sense of characterization and symbolism. The main characters in both stories are selfish and stubborn, always thinking about themselves, which leads them to unhappiness.
In “A Rose for Emily”, Faulker’s main literature element is the symbolism represented in the story. He compares the Grierson house with Emily Grierson’s change in social standing, physical deterioration and unwillingness to accept changes in her life. In it’s principal the Grierson house is described as “white, decorated with cupolas and spires and scrolled balconies in the heavily lightsome style of the seventies”. This explanation insinuates that the house is not build for function, but also to impress the attention of the townspeople.
Faulkner expresses the content of her character through her actions, physical description and feelings. The reader is aware of the physical decline of both the house and Emily. “No visitor had passed since she ceased giving china-painting lessons eight or ten years earlier”, he characterizes her as attempting to remove herself from society through her actions. Also, “After her father’s death she went out very little; after her sweetheart went away people hardly saw her at all”. The death of her father and the shattered relationship with her sweetheart contributed to her seclusion.
The house is then described as “smelling of dust and disuse”, evidence of Emily’s own aging is given when her voice in similarly said to be “harsh, and rusty, as if from disuse”. The house is then seen as “an eyesore among eyesores”, and Emily is described as a “fallen monument”, which in meaning will be both empty and lifeless. Her shocking appearances with Homer Barron further pointed her reputation in the public eye, perhaps unavoidably the prestige and desirability of the Grierson house, falling along side with Emily’s diminishing name. Lastly, Emily held herself “a little too high” for what she was, the house is represented as “lifting its stubborn and Coquettish decay above the cotton wagons and gasoline pumps”. The gasoline pumps and cotton wagons in this description are unquestionably used to indicate what Emily must surely see as the mostly unimportant and purposeless townspeople.
In “As I Lay Dying”, Faulkner also implies some characterization in the story. In this story every family member has some responsibility for what goes wrong. However, Anse (the husband) is truly the person to blame with his selfishness and laziness. Anse is resentful of the cost of a doctor fpr his dying wife. He thinks its money better spent on false teeth to him “I never sent for you, I take you to witness I never sent for you”, he repeats trying to avoid a doctor’s fee. Before Addie (the wife) dies, she requests to be buried in Jefferson. During his journey to the burial of his wife, he worries about his well being before the familys well being. He only granted his wife’s last request to better his image by getting false teeth.
Anse cared for his wife, but the feelings were overshadowed by his devotion to progress himself. “If I work . . .. I will sweat . . .. and if I sweat, then I will die”, describes his lazy attitude towards life. Anse didn’t care for anyone but himself. At some point Anse plays “to perfection the role of the grief-stricken widower” while he on the sly thinks only of getting another wife and false teeth. With money he has stolen, he finally pays buys some new teeth and a new wife.
In conclusion, we can see Faulkner tries to impersonate these stories with selfish, stubborn people that think of themselves. Also showing the deterioration of two characters and two families.
In “A Rose for Emily” Emily, deteriorates slowly by secluding herself from the outside world, this may have been caused by her father’s death. In “As I Lay Dying”, by thinking of himself Anse destroys his family. He is selfish whenever his needs with those of his family.

Many great events have happened throughout time. One of which I would have wanted to witness was when Frederick II [more commonly known as Frederick the Great] invaded the lands belonging to the Hapsburgs. When he became King of Prussia in 1740, Frederick to conquer Austria’s iron-rich land of Silesia, among others.
I believe it would have been an exceptionally captivating incident to observe during Maria Theresa’s reign as Austria’s new successor as the Hapsburg monarch. During the times of great anguish and combat, the youthful queen remained composed and in control. The Prussian army attacked and occupied Silesia during December of 1740, thus commencing the War of Austrian Succession. After Prussia’s actions, other countries also hurdled to take advantage of Maria Theresa’s conjectural weakness. Although just having given birth to her first son, Maria Theresa was swift to take action. Nevertheless, she journeyed across Austria to the Hungarian lands rightfully hers. Maria Theresa held her infant son before an assembly of Hungarian nobles, most of which who were not particularly forthcoming to their Hapsburg rulers. She delivered an exceedingly rousing speech that immediately won over the surly assembly. The Hungarians arranged to give Maria Theresa an army of 100,000 men. With the assistance of Great Britain, Russia and the Dutch Netherlands, Maria Theresa and her armies managed to impede Prussia and its allies from overtaking Austria and the other Hapsburg lands. Although Silesia was unable to be spared by Austrian rule, and was lost completely in the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle, Maria Theresa proved to be a wonderful leader in a time of suffering and hostilities.
I chose this event because much can be learned from the experiences that Maria Theresa faced. Most would believe Maria Theresa to be a feeble monarch, primarily because she was female, but Maria Theresa was far from weak. Although she had a young son, this did not stop her from helping her country and taking charge when she was needed. She showed strong character and was quick to know what was necessary to overthrow the powers of Frederick II and his armies.
Maria Theresa was a wonderful monarch of the Hapsburg dynasty, and she never let her resistance down. Even though countless great events have happened throughout history, I believe that the War of Austrian Succession, won for the most part by Austria, would have been an incredible event to be present at, to see the powerful actions taken by the Hapsburg monarch of Austria, Maria Theresa.
